Sterling to send 1st truckload of new insect trap

SPOKANE, WA, December 29, 2008 – Not all local commerce is slowing down while the snow falls. A local manufacturer is busy making a product that will make next spring and summer more bearable and bug-free.

Sterling International, manufacturers of RESCUE!® Pest Control Products, fired up the production line on  December 22 to start in-house injection molding and assembling of its new insect trap for wasps, hornets and yellowjackets: the W·H·Y Trap.

The first full truckload of W·H·Y Traps will ship today to more Wal-Mart stores in the Southeast, via their distributor in Texas. Ace Hardware, True Value Hardware, Albertson's and Bi-Mart stores are also in line to receive early shipments. So far, Sterling has over $500,000 in early orders for the W·H·Y Trap alone.

The W·H·Y Trap catches 20 different species of stinging pest insects, including six species of paper wasps, Bald-faced hornets, European hornets, and 12 species of yellowjackets.

Since 1982, Sterling International, Inc. has created insect traps and attractants as an alternative to sprays. Based in Spokane, the company sells its RESCUE!® Yellowjacket Traps, Fly Traps and Japanese & Oriental Beetle Traps through home improvement centers, hardware stores and lawn & garden retailers throughout the U.S. and beyond.
